Avocados have infiltrated every aspect of contemporary life — whether on toast, in popular culture, or as natural dye in this organic cotton tee. Fabric hand-dyed using avocado pits over the course of three days, giving new meaning to millennial pink.
The fabric was first scoured and soaked in mordant to improve colorfastness. Boiling avocado pits created a tannin-rich dye bath. pH of solution adjusted using baking soda to get the soft pink color.
